Family Medicine Doctor

Centra is actively seeking Family Medicine Doctors for our growing Primary Care Centers. We are seeking candidates with a MD/DO distinction, and who are board certified or board eligible in Family Medicine. CMG operates 13 primary care practices, bringing a full range of health and wellness services to Central Virginia families.

Gretna is home to over 1300 people and encompasses 1.2 square miles. It has retained its charming small-town atmosphere with one stoplight, restaurants known for their "home cooked" meals, and residents who are accommodating and friendly. The Town's proximity to the juncture of Routes 29 and Routes 40 offers potential economic growth for existing and future businesses and Industry. Gretna is located just a few miles from beautiful Smith Mountain Lake.

Centra Medical Group (CMG) is a comprehensive network of nearly 600 employed providers within Centra Health. Centra Health services a population of 600,000 community members with 70 different outpatient and specialty practices. Centra offers primary care and specialty services across Central and Southern Virginia—from Lynchburg to Danville, Farmville, Moneta, and Bedford. CMG includes family practices, specialists, and surgeons in fields such as cardiology, neurosurgery, psychiatry, urology, and more.

CMG is also home to the Lynchburg Family Medicine Residency, a training program for future family physicians, many of whom hold academic appointments with institutions like UVA, VCU, VCOM, and Liberty University.

Responsibilities

• Patient volume of 18 patients/day
• Supported by a collaborative care team, including dedicated APPs.

Qualifications

• Completion of medical degree and residency training in Family Medicine.
• MD/DO with certification by an American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) board in physician's primary specialty. Must be board certified or in the process of certifying.
