Controls Engineering Manager

Job Summary Controls Engineering Manager - Direct hire, full time in Myrtle Beach, SC. Local client seeks experienced Engineering leader with prior experience in automation/controls and process improvement projects. Candidate must have prior leadership skills and experience from within a manufacturing environment. Client offers a base salary, profit sharing bonuses and full benefits/401 K. Location: Myrtle Beach, South Carolina Job type: Permanent Salary: $120,000 - 145,000 per year Work hours: 8am to 4pm Education: Bachelors Responsibilities Lead and manage the engineering department, including product, manufacturing, process, and project engineering teams. Develop and implement engineering strategies that improve manufacturing processes, product quality, and energy efficiency. Oversee process control and electrical engineering activities to ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations. Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as production, quality assurance, and supply chain to support seamless operations and continuous improvement. Manage engineering projects from concept through completion, ensuring timely delivery within budget and scope. Drive energy management initiatives to optimize resource utilization and reduce environmental impact. Mentor and develop engineering staff, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and professional growth. Analyze engineering data and metrics to identify opportunities for process enhancements and cost savings. Manage and approve/deny capital projects. Contribute productivity improvements and commit the profit based on Metglas mid-term plan. Essential Functions Of This Role Include Working in a smoke-free environment. Wearing steel toe shoes. Working in a non-temperature controlled environment. Qualifications Experience level: Experienced. Minimum 10 years of experience. Education: Bachelors (required). Skills Process Improvement. Automation/Controls – 10 years of experience. Prior Leadership – 5 years of experience. Manufacturing environment – 5 years of experience. PLC Programming – 10 years of experience.
