This CEO position exists to serve as the senior leader of the organization and is accountable to the Board of Directors for the overall strategic, operational, financial, and clinical performance of the Critical Access Hospital, rural health clinics and other health related services. The CEO partners with the Board of Directors to ensure the organization fulfills its mission, maintains long-term sustainability, and preserves access to high-quality care close to home for the communities served consistently with the organization’s mission, vision, and values. Versique has been retained by United Hospital District (UHD) to hire for their CEO. Worksite Location Blue Earth, MN Salary Range $300 - $350K Benefits Medical Dental Vision 401(k) with employer match Life & disability Insurance Paid Time-Off Roles & Responsibilities Serves as the primary liaison and partner to a 13-member Board of Directors Facilitates board development, strategic planning, and policy implementation Ensures organizational alignment with mission and community benefit obligations as a 501(c)(3) Leads development and execution of long-range strategic and master facility plans Positions the organization for long-term rural healthcare sustainability Develops regional partnerships, affiliations, and service line growth strategies Champions innovation in care delivery, workforce models, and technology Directly leads the senior Executive Leadership team (CNO, COO, CFO, CMO) Ensures compliance with CMS CoP and all Accreditation entities Develops and champions value-based care readiness and population health initiatives Establish and manage the organizational culture by creating a high trust, high-accountability leadership culture Develops future rural healthcare leaders Supports physician and APP alignment and engagement Serves as the organization’s primary ambassador to: Community, Legislators, Regional health system partners. Develops and promotes philanthropy and grant development Develops positive, on‑going relationships with the hospital's service area community members in a manner which espouses and is sensitive to the various issues of a diverse population. Ensures Performance Improvement and Customer Experience goals are in place with adequate resources made available to accomplish them. Manages the hospital's operations to ensure efficient and effective utilization of resources Manages the budgeting process, plans net revenue and cash flow to ensure financial viability, ensures cost-based reimbursement optimization, rev cycle performance and cash-flow management. Follows company Standards of Excellence Service Excellence - Honesty and Integrity – Respect - Teamwork Required Skills & Experience Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or a related field, with a minimum of ten years of progressively responsible senior leadership experience in hospital administration. Demonstrated knowledge of, and adherence to, the organization’s Code of Conduct. Demonstrated knowledge of, and compliance with, HIPAA regulations and patient privacy standards. Understanding of cost-based reimbursement methodologies. Proven ability to work and communicate effectively and build relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization and community.
