Job Description Key Responsibilities (other duties as assigned): Drive sales by contributing to store goals and selling furniture, accessories and services. Promote the Design program and assist designers to achieve sales goals. Consistently execute the La-Z-Boy selling process to provide a favorable customer experience. Develop and utilize sales skills, including approach, rapport, needs discovery, portfolio presentations, objections handling, closing, follow-up, and ongoing contact with customers. Maximize store promotions, marketing initiatives, and grassroots programs. Maintain knowledge of features and benefits of existing and new product lines. Design Program: Schedule professional home consultations to present customized room designs and installation benefits; follow established guidelines; support design-related functions in-store. Customer Focus: Provide the highest level of customer service, ensure informed and positive customer experiences, and use tools to ensure customer satisfaction and future follow-up; respond to calls and emails; help resolve customer issues. People: Maintain positive relationships with store staff; assist in training and developing peers to achieve sales goals; promote a culture of sales and service. Operational Excellence: Maintain showroom appearance, manage orders and deposits, complete daily logs, schedule deliveries, and handle opening/closing of the store. Minimum Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent Previous selling experience and ability to close a sale strongly preferred Excellent communication, customer service, and organizational skills Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport and influence Demonstrated persuasion and negotiation skills Ability to manage time and priorities Ability to work as part of a team and adhere to schedules Evening, weekend and holiday availability as required Initiative to meet goals and drive performance Strong attention to detail Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) Preferred Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field Supervisory Responsibilities None Physical Demands/Work Environment Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Ability to stand for long periods Regular repetitive hand motions, hearing and listening Ability to sit, walk, bend and stoop; indoor environment Ability to pass background and drug screen Other Duties This job description is not intended to be an exhaustive list of duties or responsibilities. What You Can Expect Training Pay: $16 per hour for 2-6 weeks (no commission) Average Annual Earning Potential After Training: $45,000 - $65,000+ (base, bonus, commission) The company will not pay less than state/local minimum wage requirements Post-Training Pay Base Pay: $13/hour (varies by store location) Commission & Bonus: UNCAPPED commission on written sales (3% on La-Z-Boy Design Sales, 2% on other sales); quarterly bonus up to $1,500 based on sales goals Individual pay is based on location, performance, qualifications and skills. Our salary ranges are provided to foster understanding and confidence in pay practices. If pay is not at or above location minimum wage, a minimum wage adjustment will be made.
