Embark on a meaningful contract opportunity dedicated to delivering high-quality nursing care for a young learner requiring specialized support. A full-time Registered Nurse is sought for a one-to-one position supporting a preschool student with complex medical needs for the 2026-2027 academic year. This assignment runs from August through June, Monday to Friday, with work hours ranging from 35 to 37.5 per week.

The nurse will be responsible for meeting the student at home, accompanying them throughout the bus ride, remaining present for the entire school day, and returning with them in the afternoon. The student presents with multiple diagnoses, including tracheomalacia (with trach and full-time oxygen), G-tube dependency for all feeds, hypothyroidism, reflux, Down syndrome, legal blindness related to cortical visual impairment, and significant global developmental delays.

What you’ll need to succeed:

• Active RN license, eligible for assignment in Massachusetts
• Experience in school nursing or pediatric settings preferred
• Comfortable providing one-on-one care and supporting children with complex medical conditions
• Competency in tracheostomy care, oxygen management, G-tube feedings, and monitoring for developmental or medical changes
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, both with the student’s family and educational staff
• Ability to support safe transitions between home, school, and transportation

Responsibilities include:

• Providing direct, continuous care during transit and at school
• Administration of prescribed medications, monitoring vital signs, and responding to health needs
• Ensuring the student’s safety and comfort throughout the day
• Documenting care activities and any health events
• Serving as a compassionate advocate for the student
