Your Role on the Team

Position Summary:

A Labor and Delivery (L&D) Nurseresponsibilities include care of the labor patient before, during and after delivery, care of the newborn immediately after delivery, care of the outpatient that presents to Labor and Delivery, circulating and recovering caesarean sections. The Labor and Delivery Nurse can identify complications including fetal monitoring interpretation and communicates to the Physician. The Labor and Delivery Nurse must maintain a high level in quality, service, critical nursing skills and critical thinking. The Labor and Delivery Nurse must be skilled in managing complex medical cases and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the best outcomes.

What It Takes to be Successful

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum Education: All External Candidates must have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing

• Knowledge necessary to obtain RN license in the state of California

• Current California R.N. license.

• Current American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, and NRP certification.

• Minimum Experience: One (1) year recent Labor & Delivery experience.

• Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties

• Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
