Join us in making a difference in the world of concussion care!

As the Chief Grant Officer, you will (or soon become) a world-expert in the art of securing grants related to Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) in the US. You will be the authority within our startup on our grant strategy and execution. Our founders will support you with their network, advice, and resources.

About the Role:

• Lead our grant strategy and secure funding to accelerate our mission of making concussion care accessible to all.
• Become a world-expert in securing grants related to Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) in the US.
• Serve as the authority within our startup on grant strategy and execution with full founder support.

What You'll Do:

• Discovering Opportunities: Identifying new grant opportunities, including SBIR, DoD, CDC, and more
• Strategic Decisions: Evaluating and deciding which grant opportunities to pursue
• Resource Gathering: Assembling all necessary resources for success, including experts and patient data
• Grant Orchestration: Leading the write-up of grant applications and managing grant-writing contractors
• Collaboration: Working closely with external stakeholders to ensure alignment and support
• Timely Submission: Ensuring grant deliverables are submitted on time
• Budget Tracking: Monitoring and managing grant budgets
• Reporting: Providing progress reports to external stakeholders

Qualifications:

• Passion for Grants: A genuine interest in the grant landscape and funding mechanisms for TBI research
• Research Skills: Strong research skills to identify and evaluate potential grant opportunities
• Project Management: Proven experience in managing complex projects, preferably grant-related
• Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to collaborate effectively with stakeholders
• Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accurate and thorough grant applications
• Adaptability: Ability to quickly learn about concussions and TBI if not already familiar

Bonus:

• Experience in the sphere of concussion research is a plus. If you're new to concussions, that's fine, but you'll need to quickly get up to speed on the job.

• Formal Degrees: We believe in skills and experience over formal education

• Flexible Commitment: We don't require you to be working full-time as long as you can comprehensively get the job done. This role could even be for someone like a super-capable PhD-Candidate researcher in TBI who wants to spend 20hrs per week with us.
• 100% Remote: While our team is based in downtown San Francisco, you have the flexibility to work from anywhere. Our office is available if you prefer an in-person environment.

Compensation & Benefits:

• Pay: Uncapped bonus-based salary (percentage of grant money secured)
• Work Location: 100% Remote (SF office available)
