BrightStar Care of Iowa City is looking for skilled, compassionate, well experienced Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) to deliver one-on-one in-home care for our elderly client with physical limitations who is mentally aware but may have bouts of agitation, confusion, and occasional physical or verbal lashing out. The ideal candidate has strong de-escalation skills and knows how to redirect the client while maintaining a safe and respectful environment

What You'll Do

Working under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, you will provide skilled personal care and assistance to our client in their home:

• Personal hygiene and activities of daily living (ADLs): bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, emptying catheter bag

• Assist with mobility – Transferring to wheelchair or bed

• Vital signs monitoring and documentation

• Medication reminders and assistance

• Meal preparation and nutritional monitoring

• Companion care and emotional support

• Reporting health changes to supervising RN

Requirements

• Active CNA certification on the Iowa Direct Care Worker Registry

• Valid driver's license with reliable transportation and auto insurance

• Must pass background check and drug screen

• Experience in home care, nursing home, hospital, or assisted living preferred

• Skilled in ADL assistance, vital signs, and patient documentation

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
