Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years Stepdown RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
An opportunity is available for a skilled Registered Nurse with experience in Stepdown and Progressive Care Unit (PCU) environments. This contract position seeks dedicated nursing professionals who excel in providing comprehensive care for patients transitioning from critical care to more stabilized settings.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active RN license in good standing
- Minimum of one year of recent experience in Stepdown or PCU settings
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication abilities
- Proficiency with electronic medical records and standard documentation practices
- Ability to adapt to fast-paced, high-acuity environments
- Demonstrated team collaboration and patient advocacy skills
Responsibilities:
- Monitor and assess patients recovering from acute conditions requiring intermediate care
- Administer prescribed treatments, medications, and manage IV drips
- Accurately document patient status, interventions, and outcomes
- Collaborate with physicians, interdisciplinary teams, and support staff to ensure optimal care delivery
- Respond swiftly to changes in patient condition, employing advanced critical thinking to escalate care as needed
- Educate patients and families on care instructions and recovery plans
- Adhere to all facility protocols, infection control procedures, and safety requirements
