Title: Remote Drug Utilization Review Pharmacist

Duration : 3 month 
Pay Rate: $60-$67.50/hr 
Location: Remote (Must reside in AZ, TX, Indiana, New Hampshire, Florida, NY, or Washington State. Arizona strongly preferred, Washington least preferred) 
Schedules: Swing Shift, 1:00 PM - 11:00 PM OR night shift, 7:00pm – 5:00am or 10pm to 8am supporting PST time zone 
Interview Process: 1 round 

Must-Haves: 

• Pharm.D. or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy 
• Active and unrestricted Pharmacist license in state of residence/employment
• Experience conducting Drug Utilization Reviews (DUR) 
• Experience reviewing prescriptions for appropriateness, dosage, interactions, and administration 

Plusses: 

• Previous experience in mail-order, online, closed-door, or fulfillment pharmacy environments 
• Experience working with pharmacy automation systems 
• Multiple active state pharmacist licenses 
• Experience in high-volume pharmacy settings 
• Clinical consultation and healthcare team collaboration experience 
• Continuous improvement and operational excellence experience 
• Strong understanding of medication therapy management and clinical pharmacy practices 
• Knowledge of federal and state pharmacy regulations 
• Strong computer proficiency with pharmacy systems 
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills 

 

Job Description: 

Insight Global is seeking a Staff Pharmacist for a top healthcare technology and pharmacy client. This pharmacist will play a critical role in supporting clinical Drug Utilization Review activities while ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient prescription fulfillment. The ideal candidate will leverage their clinical expertise to review medication therapies, identify potential drug interactions, provide recommendations to prescribers, and support patients through high-quality pharmacy care. This role also includes collaboration with multidisciplinary healthcare teams, oversight of controlled substance compliance, and participation in innovative pharmacy operations designed to improve medication access and adherence. Candidates must thrive in a fast-paced environment, possess strong clinical judgment, and be comfortable supporting pharmacy automation and fulfillment technology while working a swing-shift schedule aligned to PST hours. 

Day-to-Day: 

• Conduct clinical Drug Utilization Reviews (DUR) for pharmacy customers 
• Review and evaluate medication orders for appropriateness, interactions, dosing, and administration route 
• Make therapy recommendations to prescribers when appropriate 
• Maintain comprehensive customer medication and health profiles 
• Provide clinical guidance and answer pharmacy-related questions 
• Collaborate with pharmacists, technicians, prescribers, and healthcare teams 
• Document healthcare communications and interventions 
• Investigate and resolve medication-related issues and errors 
• Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot pharmacy automation systems 
• Ensure compliance with DEA, state, and federal regulations 
• Dispense controlled substances and maintain accurate records 
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and support pharmacy operations 
• Assist with inventory, compliance documentation, and operational workflows as needed 

 

Compensation: 

$60/hr to $67.50/hr. 

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. 

Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching.
