Food Service Custodian: Southbridge Middle High School Southbridge Public Schools – Southbridge, Massachusetts Job Description Southbridge Public Schools serve approximately 2,000 students across six schools and are in the midst of a measurable transformation. They pride themselves on student growth and culture. The Food Service Custodian is a flexible individual who maintains the cleanliness of the food service department and enjoys working in a school environment. Essential Functions Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, taking out trash, cleaning floors. Clean food production area, serving area and sitting area during and after meal service. Remain patient and positive under pressure. Perform all other kitchen duties as required, including assisting in serving food items when necessary. Provide services to cafeteria customers in a friendly and efficient manner. Physical Demands Must be able to stand for long periods of time. Must frequently lift or move objects up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move objects up to 25 pounds. Preferred Education/Experience High School Diploma or GED – preferred but not required. Prior cafeteria or food industry experience – preferred but not required.
