Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Labor & Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 07:00 - 19:00 Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Current RN License Certifications: Current NRP and BLS required Must-Have: Current Intermediate Fetal Heart Monitoring experience Labor & Delivery experience within the last 2 years Description: We are seeking a Registered Nurse for the Labor & Delivery unit. The unit has 16 labor, delivery, recovery beds, 3 operating rooms, 3 triage rooms, and 3 recovery rooms. The team consists of approximately 70 staff members. Patient ratios typically follow established guidelines and may vary based on acuity. We utilize equipment such as Novii monitors, iMobile devices, pass-through C-section drapes, and deep soaker tubs. The electronic medical record system is CPN and Meditech. Common procedures involve labor support, deliveries, recovery care, triage, and circulating for C-sections. The first hour of baby care requires staff involvement excluding admission assessments. Support for breastfeeding is also provided. Ideal candidates will possess a strong commitment to patient-centered care and cultural diversity. Dress code includes navy blue scrubs and closed shoes. Tattoos and piercings should be covered. The unit operates 24/7 and has hospitalist and midwife coverage, as well as anesthesia and neonatology available. This department has received recognition for excellence in labor and delivery performance. It has been recognized among the top 10% of hospitals evaluated for labor and delivery and received awards for both vaginal and C-section deliveries.
