CNA - Acute Care

Provide high quality, compassionate care and assistance to patients with activities of daily living. The position supports nursing staff by helping ensure a safe, clean, and comfortable environment while promoting dignity and respect for all patients. Qualifications Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Current certification as a nurse aide in good standing with the state of Kansas. Current BLS certification or ability to obtain upon hire. Experience: None required. Skills: Compassionate, patient and dependable with a genuine desire to care for others. Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a healthcare team. Good communication and observation skills. Ability to perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting and repositioning. Essential Job Functions Job Functions: Providing great patient care. Answering patient calls and determining how best to help them. Providing physical support for patients or residents with daily activities and personal hygiene, including bathing, dressing, getting out of bed, using the toilet, walking, standing, or exercising. Turning and repositioning bedridden patients. Obtaining a wide range of information from physicians, caregivers, and nurses about patient conditions, treatment plans, and suggested activities. Measuring and recording food and liquid intake and urinary and fecal output and reporting changes to medical or nursing staff. Recording vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rate as requested by staff. Examining patients to detect issues requiring medical care, including open wounds and bruises. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and move patients and equipment up to 50 pounds independently and more with assistance. Standing and walking for long periods of time, frequent bending, reaching, kneeling, crouching and stooping. Ability to push and pull patients and equipment. Stamina and endurance to handle fast paced, high stress environment.
