IBH Addiction Recovery Professional Clinical Counselor

IBH Addiction Recovery, founded in 1970, is a highly effective nonprofit organization and leading provider of drug and alcohol addiction treatment in Summit County. We provide evidence-based services including Residential Treatment, Day Treatment, Outpatient Programs, Aftercare support, and Recovery Housing, complemented by spiritual guidance. We also specialize in helping clients with co-occurring mental health diagnoses, ensuring a comprehensive and integrated approach to care. Our programs are intended to offer persons with alcohol and drug addiction the opportunity to restore hope and gain skills for a lifetime of sobriety.

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Professional Clinical Counselor to help us meet the individualized needs of people in recovery and uphold those values.

Job Summary:

Provides clinical services/counseling to clients with substance use disorders and/or co-occurring diagnoses.

Essential Job Duties:

  1. Participates as a member of a multi-disciplinary team to provide treatment for the clients.
  2. Provides individual and group counseling.
  3. Develops, reviews, updates, and implements treatment plans.
  4. Documents clinical activities in a timely manner per agency standards.
  5. Develops community transition plan with client to link and advocate for clients with community agencies/resources.
  6. Refers client to supportive services with other community treatment providers as needed.
  7. Participates in scheduled supervision regularly.
  8. Maintains client records in compliance with agency, CARF, and OHMAS standards.
  9. Participates in quality improvement activities and promotes continuous improvement.
  10. Maintains confidentiality of client and agency information.
  11. Attends staff meetings and/or review monthly staff meeting minutes.
  12. Attends workshops, seminars, and/or agency trainings to stay current on trends in chemical dependency, dual diagnosis, behavioral health counseling, and federal, state, and local regulations required to maintain licensure.
  13. Completes internet-based trainings and other trainings to maintain licensure and as required by the agency's governing bodies.
  14. Maintains licensure(s) and certifications agency requires for the position.
  15. Performs other duties that may become necessary or as directed by your supervisor.

Competencies:

Comprehensive Diagnostic Assessment, Behavioral Health Counseling Group & Individual, Lethality/Risk Assessment, Case Consultation and/or Coordination, Psychoeducation, Relapse Prevention; Listening skills, Problem Solving, Stress Management, Interpersonal and Teamwork skills, Project Management, Organization skills with the ability to plan and prioritize work activities.

Educational/Experience Requirements

  1. Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work or related field preferred.
  2. State of Ohio LPC, LSW, LPCC or LISW licensure preferred.
  3. Minimum of State of Ohio CDCA, LCDC, etc. required.
  4. CPR and First Aid certifications, and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training preferred, but will be provided.
  5. Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word and Excel, and EHR systems preferred.

Physical Demands

Considerable standing or sitting and infrequent walking. Lifts supplies/equipment up to 20 lbs. occasionally and/or up to 10 lbs. frequently. Occasional reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Possible according to licensure, operational need, and/or staff preference.
