Inventory Planner

About the Role Poltrona Frau Group North America is seeking an Inventory Planner to support inventory planning, product availability, and inventory performance across our growing portfolio of luxury design brands. The Inventory Planner will be primarily responsible for managing finished goods inventory , with a particular focus on the Quickship program and second-quality products . This role will analyze inventory levels, sales trends, product availability, and inventory aging to help ensure the right products are available at the right time while balancing customer needs, inventory investment, and operational efficiency. Reporting to the Customer Service & Logistics Manager , the Inventory Planner will work cross-functionally with teams across Sales, Operations, Purchasing, Logistics, and other business functions to support effective inventory management, identify potential shortages or excess inventory, and improve overall inventory performance. The ideal candidate is analytical, highly organized, and detail-oriented, with strong business judgment and the ability to translate data into actionable recommendations. Key Responsibilities Manage and monitor finished goods inventory , with a primary focus on the Quickship program. Monitor inventory levels, availability, aging, turnover, and product performance to support business and customer needs. Manage and monitor second-quality products , identifying opportunities to improve utilization and reduce aging or excess inventory. Analyze inventory levels, sales trends, demand patterns, and product availability to support inventory planning decisions. Develop and maintain inventory plans to balance product availability with inventory investment and business needs. Identify excess, slow-moving, aging, and at-risk inventory and recommend appropriate actions. Support forecasting and replenishment activities to maintain appropriate finished goods inventory levels. Partner with Sales, Operations, Purchasing, Logistics, and other cross-functional teams to understand demand and inventory requirements. Review historical sales data and current business trends to identify changes in demand and make recommendations accordingly. Proactively identify potential shortages, overstock situations, and other inventory risks. Support purchasing and replenishment decisions by providing data-driven inventory recommendations. Utilize Microsoft Dynamics NAV (Navision) to monitor inventory, review product information, and support inventory planning and reporting. Track inventory metrics and prepare regular reports and analyses for business stakeholders. Investigate inventory discrepancies and work with relevant teams to identify and resolve issues. Support product introductions, product transitions, and inventory lifecycle management. Assist with developing and maintaining inventory policies, processes, and planning tools. Identify opportunities to improve inventory accuracy, availability, turnover, and overall efficiency. Provide ad hoc analysis and reporting to support business and operational decisions. Qualifications 2+ years of experience in inventory planning, demand planning, supply chain, merchandise planning, purchasing, or a related analytical function. Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to interpret data and translate findings into actionable recommendations. Experience analyzing sales trends, inventory levels, forecasts, and product performance. Experience working with finished goods inventory and inventory availability strongly preferred. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience working with large datasets. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV (Navision) or a comparable ERP/inventory management system strongly preferred. Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities. Experience with inventory management, demand planning, forecasting, or business intelligence systems. Experience within the luxury furniture, luxury goods, retail, consumer products, or related industries is a plus. This position also includes eligibility for a 10% annual bonus .
