Position Overview
We are seeking a dependable and hardworking Lumber Stacker to join our growing milling and lumber production team in Prineville, Oregon. This position plays a critical role in wood manufacturing, lumber processing, quality control, material handling, and production operations by sorting, stacking, inspecting, and preparing lumber products for shipment.
The ideal candidate is safety-minded, team-oriented, and eager to learn new skills while building a long-term career in the lumber, sawmill, wood products, or manufacturing industry .
Responsibilities
• Sort and stack lumber coming off machine centers and production lines
• Grade lumber and inspect finished wood products for quality standards
• Clean work areas and maintain an organized production environment
• Wrap, band, and tag finished lumber products for shipment
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures
• Read and interpret production schedules and job orders
• Coordinate daily activities with forklift operators, saw operators, and production management
• Assist with additional production and yard duties as assigned
• Learn to operate block saws and other production equipment as needed
• Support efficient lumber processing and manufacturing operations
• Demonstrate a willingness to learn, grow, and advance within the company
Key Requirements
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 80 pounds occasionally
• Ability to work outdoors approximately 90% of the time in varying weather conditions
• Comfortable working around dust, noise, machinery, and industrial equipment
• Ability to read, write, and perform basic mathematical calculations
• Ability to accurately read and use a tape measure
• Strong work ethic and commitment to workplace safety
• Ability to follow instructions and established procedures
• Reliable attendance and punctuality
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment
Preferred Qualifications
• Previous manufacturing experience
• Previous lumber mill or sawmill experience
• Previous warehouse, production, or general labor experience
• Experience operating or working around industrial equipment
• Familiarity with quality control and product inspection processes
Training is available for motivated candidates who are eager to learn.
