Estimator

Prepare detailed estimates for a variety of project pursuits, including hard-bid, negotiated, design-build, and conceptual opportunities Attend pre-bid meetings and conduct site visits to support accurate pricing and project understanding Review and interpret drawings, specifications, and contract documents Perform quantity take-offs and organize pricing data to develop comprehensive estimates Develop detailed scopes of work for subcontractors and project execution teams Solicit and evaluate bids and proposals from subcontractors and suppliers Coordinate with trade partners to clarify scope, pricing, and project requirements Prepare estimate summaries, bid analyses, general conditions, and budget reports Assist in the preparation and submission of competitive bid proposals Develop preliminary schedules and identify critical project milestones and sequencing Support preconstruction initiatives, budgeting efforts, and value engineering exercises Collaborate with operations and project teams throughout the preconstruction process Promote company culture, values, and commitment to quality and safety Perform additional duties as assigned

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred; equivalent industry experience considered 4+ years of estimating or preconstruction experience within the construction industry Experience across a range of commercial construction sectors and project delivery methods Strong understanding of construction means and methods, trade scopes, scheduling, and project risk analysis Proven ability to develop cost-saving and value engineering solutions while maintaining quality standards Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite Demonstrated knowledge of estimating best practices and preconstruction processes #J-18808-Ljbffr The Fordy Group
