The division is ideal for collaborative individuals who have strong ethics and attention to detail.Department OverviewCredit Risk is responsible for managing the firm’s credit exposure to its trading and lending counterparties. Leveraging its extensive expertise in financial, credit and risk analysis, CR ensures that credit exposure to our counterparts is managed within the firm’s risk appetite. Credit professionals work closely with many areas of the firm. Given this structure, CR professionals gain diverse financial experience and a broad perspective on how the entire firm functions. The interaction with numerous departments and the range of projects that ensue allow for a challenging, varied and multi-dimensional work environment. Key Responsibilities:Evaluate derivatives and financing transactions across Global Banking & Markets clients. Review and approve risk in a fast-paced environment while ensuring appropriate mitigants in place to minimize losses in event of counterparty defaultAssess the financial strength of financial institutions, such as banks, insurance companies, mortgage originators, private credit companies, broker dealers etc by performing fundamental counterparty analysis. Interpret quantitative and qualitative factors drawn from risk reports, portfolio analysis, and client calls Approve transactions across Institutional Derivatives and Funding business lines (interest rate derivatives, FX options, prime brokerage, repo, etc). Opine on initial margin based on counterparty and trade details. Drive risk conversations with respective trading and sales teams Perform counterparty reviews, recommend internal ratings, and set counterparty risk limitsBasic Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in business or finance 0-3 years of experience in a financial analyst role preferredKnowledge of capital markets, including derivatives and/or repo product Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
