Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Labor & Delivery RN for a hospital day-shift contract requiring prior travel experience and Level 3 L&D expertise.

Details

• 12-hour day shift schedule in the Labor/Delivery unit
• Level 3 L&D unit with antepartum and post-partum patient care
• May float to the antepartum unit as needed
• Every other weekend required (Friday and Saturday)
• Holiday coverage as needed
• EMR: Epic

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required
• BLS and NRP certifications required (American Heart preferred, American Red Cross accepted for BLS)
• Electronic fetal monitoring experience required; tele monitoring experience a plus
• Minimum 3 years of experience in an acute care hospital setting
• At least one successful travel contract required
• Strong Level 3 L&D experience along with antepartum/post-partum experience
• Epic EMR experience required and must be reflected in employment history
• Two current professional references required within the last year, at least one from a travel assignment preferred

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care across labor, delivery, antepartum, and post-partum stages
• On-site interview with the hospital required prior to start, typically lasting 10-15 minutes
• Candidates in CVICU, Telemetry, ER, or L&D roles at this facility must complete an EKG test with a minimum score of 80% prior to consideration, followed by a pass/fail on-site EKG test during Day 1 orientation
• 12 hours of non-billable orientation required
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• Returning permanent or per diem staff must have a 12-month break in service before being considered as a traveler
• RTO limited to a maximum of 3 days for 8-week contracts and 7 days for 13-week contracts
