Position Title Football Graduate Assistant Job Description The Graduate Assistant for Football will support the Head Football Coach in building, recruiting, and maintaining a competitive football program on the Raymond Campus. This role aligns with the goals of Hinds Community College and adheres to the policies and procedures outlined in the Athletic Department Handbook. Department Athletics Reports to Head Football Coach Exempt No Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s required. Experience: 1-2 years of competitive college coaching experience. Certificate/License: Familiar with MACCC and NJCAA governing rules. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Maintain knowledge of diversity-related issues, legislation, and best practices. Recruit, train, and provide guidance to members of the football team to promote academic, athletic, and social success of athletes. Represent Hinds Community College and the Athletic Department in a positive manner with high integrity and quality. Adhere to and enforce all department, college, NJCAA, and MACCC policies and procedures. Assist with specific aspects of the football program, providing opportunities that challenge and support student‑athletes to reach their full potential. Assist with organization and administration of the football program, including recruitment planning, practice and game planning, film coordination, meal planning, and travel planning. Assist the head coach and assistant coaches with recruiting plans and recruiting potential student‑athletes. Assist the head coach and assistant coaches in scouting opponents and preparing game and practice plans. Assist in monitoring academic activities for each program, including grade checks, study hall monitoring, and advisor support. Perform other appropriate duties as assigned that relate to the success of the program. Physical Demands The position requires using hand, finger, and arms for handling objects, frequent standing, walking, sitting, and occasional lifting or moving up to 50 pounds. Vision required includes close vision and the ability to adjust focus. Work Environment The work environment is moderate in noise level, with occasional outdoor activities and off‑site appointments.
