About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 14 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (19:00 - 07:00) Experience: Minimum 1 year License: GA or compact license required Certifications: BLS required Must-Have: Charting system experience, specifically Epic; Patient ratio experience of 1:6 Description: Minimum experience required is 1 year. First-time travelers are accepted. Patient population includes adults to geriatrics. General med-surg unit with a patient ratio of 1:6. Systems used within the unit include Epic and Pyxis. Scrub color for the unit is navy blue. Floating may be required within the facility and scope of practice as needed. Working on weekends is required every other weekend unless specified otherwise. Holiday hours may be expected if major holidays fall within the assignment period. Full compliance is required prior to the start date to ensure timely onboarding. Compliance documents must be submitted by the designated deadline. Orientation hours are non-billable. Skills required include blood product administration, central line blood draw, and surgical drains management. Additional skills include starting and maintaining IVs, wound care, and isolation precautions. Team support from physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, and pharmacy will be available. The unit handles various medical surgical patient diagnoses.
