Operating Room Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) - Davinci Robotics

This position includes 36 or 48 hours per week, with Monday to Friday day shifts. On-call responsibilities may extend until 11 PM, with no weekend or holiday requirements.

The RNFA is a highly trained Registered Nurse who collaborates with surgeons and the healthcare team to ensure safe and optimal surgical outcomes. This role includes responsibilities in perioperative nursing, and the RNFA practices under the direction of the surgeon during the operative phase.

Responsibilities:

• Perform duties of OR staff RN when not assigned to RNFA role.
• Assist the surgical team in various robotic surgical procedures across specialties including Urology, GYN, Colorectal, Surgical Oncology, Thoracic, and General Surgery.
• Ensure adherence to safety protocols in the operating room.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• NYS License as a Registered Professional Nurse.
• Completion of an accredited RN First Assistant program.
• CNOR certification is mandatory.
• Two (2) years of operating room experience preferred, especially in level 1 trauma settings.
• Robotic surgery experience preferred.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association is required; ACLS certification is preferred.
