Overview

Shift: Swing shift rotation with 6 weeks on day shift (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM) followed by 6 weeks on night shift (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM), including every 3rd weekend rotation

Join our team as a Labor & Delivery Nurse! Our Maternal Child unit offers a dynamic and supportive environment featuring seven Labor & Delivery beds, a four-bed triage area, a 16-bed Mother Baby Unit, and a Level II NSCU with private and open-bay rooms. We care for approximately 1,000 deliveries each year and provide comprehensive obstetric services supported by dedicated OR suites, a 24/7 UPH OB Hospitalist program, and CRNA coverage to ensure continuous, high-quality care.

Mother Baby nurses rotate through the Core Nursery and are actively involved in all deliveries, working in alignment with AWHONN standards while also caring for gynecological patients. We offer a preceptor-led orientation designed for both new graduates and experienced nurses, with 12-hour shifts, every third weekend and holiday rotation, and floating limited to Maternal Child units in Moline and Bettendorf. Responsibilities

• Assess patient and family needs, provide education, and coordinate referrals to ensure continuity of care.

• Develop and implement individualized plans of care in collaboration with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team.

• Deliver safe, high-quality nursing care utilizing the nursing process, clinical expertise, and evidence-based practice.

• Monitor patient conditions, apply critical thinking skills, and make independent clinical judgments to support positive patient outcomes.

• Accurately and promptly document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the medical record.

• Delegate and coordinate patient care activities while providing guidance and support to other healthcare team members.

• Promote patient safety and education by utilizing age-appropriate teaching strategies, preventing errors and infections, and supporting patients and families throughout their care journey.

Qualifications

Education:

• Diploma from an RN program.

License(s)/Certification(s):

• Current licensure in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in primary state.

• Must apply within 90 days for licensure in secondary state.

• Must possess and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

• Must possess and maintain ACLS
