Ideal Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a paraprofessional in elementary school settings
• Familiarity with K-2 developmental stages
• Proven ability to manage mild, moderate, and severe behaviors
• Comfort implementing positive behavior intervention strategies
• Understanding and management of elopement behaviors
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Patience, adaptability, and a proactive attitude
• Ability to maintain composure in high-energy or crisis situations

Daily Responsibilities:

• Support lead teachers with instructional activities, classroom management, and student supervision
• Work one-on-one or in small groups with students requiring additional behavioral or academic support
• Implement individualized behavior and safety plans, including protocols for students prone to eloping
• Monitor students’ progress and help document achievements and challenges
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and structured classroom culture
• Communicate regularly and effectively with teaching staff, counselors, and school administrators
• Assist with transitions, mealtimes, and other daily routines to ensure consistency and student safety
