Job Title Charge Nurse (S) – Position Number 60059799 – Grade MH16 Agency NC Department of Adult Correction Location Central Prison, close‑custody male institution Job Summary This position is located at Central Prison, a close‑custody prison housing male offenders. The Charge/Lead Nurse provides professional nursing care/treatment to patients in accordance with medical protocols in a supervisory capacity. Employees are responsible for managing and supervising daily nursing care on an assigned shift or area, or in a preceptor role, coordinating all licensed and non‑licensed staff. Responsibilities Conduct needs assessments and develop, implement, and evaluate treatment plans Provide patient care and education to offenders in the facility Perform medication administration, phlebotomy sticks, and transcribe MD/PA orders Document thorough medical records, monitor, and treat communicable diseases Respond to emergencies Coordinate sick call assessments and oversee daily nursing care on assigned shift or area Qualifications Registered Nurse license in the State of North Carolina One year of nursing experience or equivalent combination of education and experience Compensation Salary range: $62,044.00 – $102,371.00. Eligible for a $7,500 sign‑on bonus. Shift: 5:45 a.m. – 6:15 p.m. (12‑hour shifts) – rotate 36/48.
