Customer Returns and Shipping Associate (Bourbonnais, IL) Staples Compensation: $15.00 - $15.00/hour Job Type: Permanent Description Shipping Associates provide exceptional customer service and help customers with shipping needs and unpackaged returns in the retail store. Your role includes collaborating with teammates and contributing to a fun, team‑oriented retail culture. Hiring is immediate, and training is provided. Responsibilities Conduct all full‑serve shipping and unpackaged returns activities, including customer engagement and preparing packages for pick‑up by third‑party carriers. Provide strong customer service for Amazon returns, UPS, and other shipping services. Engage with customers to identify shipping needs and explain different options. Maintain the shipping area to ensure efficient processing and storage of packages. Ensure required supplies for shipping and returns are in stock. Provide exceptional customer service to create a positive, inviting environment. Use basic selling skills to engage and present solutions. Perform duties such as online pick‑ups, cleaning, and other tasks as assigned. Essential Skills and Experience Able to work a flexible schedule based on the store’s needs. Must be able to engage with customers and understand their needs to drive additional sales. Ability to lift, push, or move materials up to 100 pounds. Strong attention to detail, organization, and the ability to multi‑task and manage priorities. Ability to collaborate and work cooperatively in a high‑paced, sometimes stressful environment. Manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational, and cooperative manner. Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
