Salary Range: $126,000–$162,000 annually

Schedule: 10:00 AM–8:30 PM; days will vary

Position Summary

The Registered Nurse provides direct patient care by assessing patient needs, developing and implementing individualized care plans, and evaluating medical and nursing regimens in accordance with hospital policies, procedures, and standards. The RN collaborates with patients, families, physicians, peers, and interdisciplinary healthcare team members to support quality patient care while demonstrating professional accountability, leadership, and a commitment to continued growth.

Job RequirementsExperience & Skills

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Knowledge of current nursing, medical, and health trends and practices in patient care.
• One year of acute care nursing experience preferred for areas other than Medical-Surgical or Step-Down.
• Successful completion of the Department and Unit Orientation Program.

Education

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.

License & Certification

• Current New York State RN license/registration.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association required.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association required for all RNs except those working in the NICU and Operating Room.
  • Newly hired, inexperienced nurses must obtain ACLS within 12 months.
  • Newly hired, experienced nurses must obtain ACLS within 6 months.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification through the American Heart Association required for RNs working in the PACU, 5I Pediatrics, Emergency Department, Armonk Urgent Care, Ambulatory Surgery, and 226 Ambulatory Surgery Center.
  • Newly hired, inexperienced nurses must obtain PALS within 12 months.
  • Newly hired, experienced nurses must obtain PALS within 6 months.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required for RNs working in the Mother-Baby Unit, Labor & Delivery, and NICU. Newly hired nurses in these units must obtain NRP within 6 months.
• RNs and advanced practice nurses providing direct oncology care must meet one of the following requirements:
  • Maintain a current cancer-specific certification in their specialty through an accredited certification program, such as AOCNP, AOCNS, AOCN, BMTCN, CPHON, CPON, CBCN, or OCN; or
  • Complete 36 cancer-related continuing education nursing contact hours every 3 years, maintained by the department manager.
• RNs working in the Emergency Department must complete de-escalation training within 1 year of hire to transfer to the Emergency Department.
