Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Burn ICU (BICU) position at a pediatric Magnet facility in Akron, OH, requiring a BSN and prior burn or ICU experience on night shifts.

Details

• Work setting is a Burn Intensive Care Unit (BICU) within a pediatric Magnet-designated hospital
• Patient population includes both pediatric and adult patients with burn injuries, as well as patients with complex comorbidities such as diabetes, cardiac conditions, and psychiatric concerns
• Patient ratio is 1:2
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:00
• Every other weekend is required
• Floating to competent units is required for all travelers during low census
• Epic EMR — experience preferred but not required

Requirements

• Active OH RN license or Compact RN license with OH privilege — must be in hand prior to consideration, no exceptions
• BSN required — this is a Magnet facility
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Current certifications required (must be active and in hand): ACLS, BLS, and PALS
• TNCC preferred
• Proficiency with vasopressor medications, sedation management, and mechanical ventilators
• Experience with arterial line management and wound care
• Skills required include: IV therapy, central line care/management, PICC line management, blood product administration, BiPAP/CPAP management, care of ventilated patients, HFNC, ABG interpretation, ETT/NT suctioning, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, management of multisystem organ dysfunction/failure, isolation precautions/PPE, and infection prevention
• Burn experience preferred
• Valid government-issued photo ID (driver's license) and SSN required for consideration
• One reference required for consideration

• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travelers — no radius rule applies
