Deli Manager

Responsibilities Manage and merchandise the department for maximum productivity and profit. Order and manage inventory controls, product quality. Coordinate production, merchandising, and sales through ongoing planning, direction, goal setting, communication, and teamwork. Lead a team that collaborates to deliver the finest quality of product, highest level of service, and the greatest experience your customers will receive. Engage and evaluate team members through coaching, feedback, and one-on-one development discussions; recommend merit increases via the bi-annual performance review process. Regularly attend and participate in in‑store meetings. Recruit, hire, and make promotion/transfer decisions in collaboration with the Store Manager. Confidently exercise independent judgment to address Team Member concerns. Take and document corrective actions when needed, including collaboration with business and HR partners in managing performance, coaching, counseling, progressive discipline, suspension, or termination. Ensure maximum productivity and efficiency by creating and adjusting schedules and staffing levels. Communicate standards, expectations, policy changes, and product knowledge to team members. Manage product orders, receiving, and storage. Operate and maintain deli equipment. Ensure execution of all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines/regulations; validate that other deli team members are aware of and following these procedures. Track weekly sales reports and order products and supplies to meet customer requirements and the company’s gross profit goals. Work closely with the Store Manager, Assistant Store Manager, and Assistant Deli Manager to ensure store and department success through excellent customer service and a passion for food. Serve as a Key Carrier for the store and/or act as Manager on Duty (MOD) as needed. Qualifications Be at least 18 years of age with 2 years of supervisory experience and 2 years of deli department experience; or an acceptable combination of experience. Must work a flexible schedule that changes as the business changes, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Possess a working knowledge of personnel reports, margin reports, weekly sales numbers, and financial goals. Show outgoing and friendly behavior with a positive attitude toward Team Members and customers. Have strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to give direction in a team environment. Have a strong focus on detail, analytical and problem‑solving skills. Have strong organization and planning skills; able to prioritize and handle multiple tasks. Maintain Food Safety certification and ensure all federal, state, and company regulations for product freshness, food safety, weights and measures, store safety, employee safety, refrigeration, and sanitation are met. Lift/carry product up to 70 lbs. from 4” to 60” for distances up to 20 feet without mechanical assistance for up to 4 hours. Stand continuously for up to 4 hours, for a total of 8 hours per shift. Operate slicer, wrapping, and cooking equipment; maintain all equipment in safe working condition. Perform other related duties as assigned. Pay Range The pay range for this position is $20.15 – $32.25 / hour. Sprouts Farmers Market determines pay based on applicable experience and qualifications of the applicant.
