Job Summary:

Under general supervision, the Radiation Therapist administers radiotherapy treatments prescribed by physicians, ensuring patient safety and comfort while adhering to established standards and protocols. The role involves direct patient care, treatment planning, and collaborating with the healthcare team to optimize outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• 
  Deliver prescribed radiation therapy treatments using advanced radiation therapy equipment in accordance with established practices.
  
  
• 
  Obtain comprehensive patient histories, address questions, and explain procedures to ensure patient understanding and comfort.
  
  
• 
  Prepare treatment rooms and equipment, properly position patients, and monitor for any adverse reactions during therapy sessions.
  
  
• 
  Verify patient identity, treatment specifics, and documentation accuracy before each session, ensuring treatment precision.
  
  
• 
  Document treatment details, patient responses, and progress reports accurately in electronic or written formats.
  
  
• 
  Collaborate with physicists, physicians, nurses, and support staff to coordinate patient care and treatment plans.
  
  

Qualifications:

• 
  Hold an associates degree in radiography with certification in radiation therapy; a bachelors degree is preferred.
  
  
• 
  Be a graduate of a JRCERT-accredited program and registered with the ARRT in Radiation Therapy.
  
  
• 
  Maintain active Ohio state licensure as a radiation therapist; possess ARRT certification and CPR certification.
  
  
• 
  Demonstrate 1-2 years of radiation therapy experience preferred.
  
  
• 
  Exhibit strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities effectively.
