St. Joseph House employees are part of the Daughters of Charity Ministries, Inc. that offer a comfortable work environment, competitive pay, great benefits, tuition reimbursement, and paid time off.Daughters of Charity in Emmitsburg Maryland is seeking a full-time Environmental Services Tech.SUMMARY OF POSITIONThe Environmental Services Tech position is responsible for the overall janitorial upkeep for designated areas of the campus and other Daughters of Charity owned properties in the area. Specified environmental services tasks also fall within this position.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSPrimary assignment is the operational areas of the main campus building and auxiliary buildings. At the direction of the Environmental Services Supervisor, completes the following:Disinfect and clean restrooms daily (toilets, sinks, mirrors, doorframes)Disinfect and mop assigned restroom floors dailyMaintain supplies in each restroomEmpty trash, replace liners as neededSweep/mop tiled areas of assigned rooms and hallways daily, spot mop as neededVacuum carpeted areas of assigned rooms and hallways dailyCollect trash and paper recycle from all rooms and place in dumpster, replace liners, wash cans as neededClean entrance glass outside and in assigned halls, as neededDisinfect and clean water fountains in assigned areas dailyDamp wipe, disinfect door knobs, frames in high traffic areas, as neededDust furniture in common areas assigned to you, as neededMake and strip beds as needed. Transfer soiled linens to laundry services as directedBe on call for emergency clean upAssist with other duties as need arisesMaintain inventory of required products and report needs to managerSet up tables and chairs as requiredAid Environmental Services Supervisor in the planning and execution of preventative maintenance work, floor care, and cleaning during periods when school is not in sessionPerform other duties as assignedMaintain a clean and safe work area. Operate equipment and vehicles safely and responsibly. Follows OSHA guidelines for the use of protective equipmentOTHER ACCOUNTABILITIESPromotes, exemplifies, and supports the values of service to persons who are poor and the mission and values of the Daughters of CharityRespond to off-hours emergency situations, as requiredEnter, retrieve, and update tickets, assets, and other data in work order systemPerforms special assignments or projects as directedMust comply with professional standards set by Daughters of Charity MinistriesPHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENTAbility to endure at least eight hours of continuous work requiring physical demands, including but not limited to walking, climbing, bending, stretching, pushing, pulling, lifting up to 50 pounds, and carryingAbility to work above floor levelAbility to endure frequent loud equipment and machine noisesMay be exposed to hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy conditions caused by the weatherHours are 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (weekends as needed)EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEThis position requires a minimum of three years experience in a healthcare setting. Must have a valid driver's license. High school diploma or GED preferred.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIESMust be able to read and interpret manuals and safety data sheets.
