Key Responsibilities\n- \n
- Conduct thorough and trauma-informed mental health assessments to evaluate patients' trauma history, establishing a foundation for targeted intervention strategies. \n
- Collaborate with patients to develop and implement personalized treatment plans focusing on trauma recovery and reinforcing coping mechanisms. \n
- Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) to facilitate client healing. \n
- Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, encouraging open dialogue to help patients process trauma, develop resilience, and cultivate self-awareness. \n
- Cooperate with a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists and other professionals, to ensure holistic and integrated treatment for each client. \n
- Provide timely crisis intervention and support in trauma-related emergencies, ensuring clients feel supported during critical moments. \n
- Educate clients and their families about trauma responses, effective coping mechanisms, and available community resources, fostering a supportive environment. \n
- Maintain meticulous and confidential documentation, adhering to all legal and ethical standards for mental health practice. \n
- Participate actively in case consultations, team meetings, and ongoing professional development, reinforcing our commitment to trauma-informed care. \n
- Stay informed on the latest research and best practices in trauma therapy, implementing applicable knowledge within client care. \n
As a Licensed Mental Health Therapist at General Hope Counseling Center, you will work primarily with individuals experiencing various trauma-related disorders, including post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), complex trauma, and dissociative disorders. Our clients often face unique challenges stemming from past experiences, and your role will be pivotal in empowering them to reclaim their lives through compassionate and informed care.
Qualifications\n- \n
- A Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required. \n
- Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LCPC, or LCSW in the state of Illinois. \n
- Demonstrated proficiency in trauma-informed treatment modalities and a comprehensive understanding of trauma-related disorders. \n
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a warm, empathetic, and non-judgmental approach. \n
- Proficiency in utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems and general computer applications to manage client information effectively. \n
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment. \n

- A minimum of 2 years of post-licensure experience in the mental health field, particularly in delivering trauma-focused therapies. \n
- Experience providing both individual and group therapy, focusing on diverse populations and a range of trauma experiences. \n
- Strong familiarity with contemporary approaches to trauma recovery and resilience-building strategies. \n
We offer a competitive annual salary ranging from USD 90,000 to 110,000, commensurate with your experience and qualifications.
