Job Title: Cath Lab Technologist

Location: Houston, TX
Assignment Duration: 13 Weeks (Potential for Extension)
Employment Type: Contract

• Pay Rate: $58–$75/hour (Based on experience)

• Hours: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

We are seeking an experienced Cath Lab Technologist to join a dynamic cardiovascular team. The ideal candidate will assist physicians during diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures while ensuring high-quality imaging, patient safety, and efficient workflow. Candidates with experience in Electrophysiology (EP), Structural Heart procedures, or Interventional Radiology are encouraged to apply.

• Assist physicians during diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures.
• Perform fluoroscopic imaging and operate C-arm equipment to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
• Prepare, position, and educate patients prior to cardiovascular procedures.
• Administer contrast media in accordance with departmental policies and scope of practice.
• Monitor patient status throughout procedures and accurately document clinical and procedural information.
• Scrub, circulate, and monitor during Cardiac Catheterization, Electrophysiology (EP), and Structural Heart procedures as needed.
• Operate and maintain imaging equipment while performing routine quality assurance checks.
• Ensure compliance with radiation safety, infection prevention, and quality assurance standards.
• Participate in on-call rotations to support emergency cardiovascular procedures.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and the multidisciplinary healthcare team to deliver exceptional patient care.
• Mentor and support less experienced staff while contributing to departmental quality improvement initiatives.

Education

• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology or Cardiovascular Technology program.

Experience

• Previous experience in a Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory (Cath Lab), Interventional Radiology (IR), or Special Procedures department .
• Proficiency with fluoroscopy, C-arm imaging, sterile scrubbing, and patient monitoring.

• ARRT (R) certification or equivalent Radiologic Technologist credential.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred if required by the facility.

• Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) certification.
• Experience with Electrophysiology (EP) procedures, including EP monitoring and scrubbing.
• Experience supporting Structural Heart procedures such as TAVR and MitraClip .
