Construction Inspector

Join our aviation infrastructure team as an experienced Construction Inspector supporting airport construction projects within active, operational airfield environments. ADCI is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented professional to support airport projects across the Washington, DC–Baltimore Metro Area . This role offers the opportunity to contribute to active airfield improvements including runways, taxiways, and related facilities while collaborating closely with contractors, engineers, and airport stakeholders in a dynamic, fast-paced setting What You’ll Do Serve as the primary on-site representative for airport construction projects Inspect and monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with project specifications, FAA standards, and safety requirements Interpret engineering plans, specifications, and technical documents Identify field issues and recommend corrective actions and technical solutions Coordinate with contractors, project engineers, and airport stakeholders to maintain project progress and operational continuity Prepare and maintain detailed daily reports documenting construction activities, safety observations, materials, and contractor performance Review shop drawings, RFIs, submittals, and change orders, providing field-level recommendations Conduct field testing and verify construction tolerances and quality standards Participate in project meetings, site walkthroughs, and coordination activities Ensure compliance with airport operational, safety, and security procedures Required Qualifications 3+ years of construction inspection or construction oversight experience, preferably in active airport environments High school diploma or GED Ability to obtain USACE Construction Quality Management (CQM) Certification within 90 days of hire Valid driver’s license Certifications (one or more required) ACI Certification Paving Inspector Certification (PIC) NICET Certification (Asphalt, Concrete, or Soils) Master Electrician or Journeyman License Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or associate’s degree in construction technology or related field Skills & Capabilities Experience with QA/QC procedures, construction documentation, and safety compliance Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications Strong organizational, communication, problem-solving, and coordination skills Familiarity with airport operations, airfield safety, and security procedures Ability to pass airport security screening, background check, and obtain required airport access credentials Additional Information Position requires operating vehicles in airport environments and obtaining Airport Operations Area (AOA) driving authorization and Driver Movement Certification Work schedules may include day, evening, overnight, or midnight shifts depending on airfield construction schedules PPE required as applicable Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and environmental conditions Benefits We offer a comprehensive benefits and wellbeing program designed to support you across all aspects of life.
