A respected non-profit organization in Connecticut is seeking a strategic and hands-on Controller to lead accounting operations and partner closely with executive leadership. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all accounting operations and monthly close
- Lead financial reporting and annual audit processes
- Manage fund accounting, cash management, payroll oversight, and compliance activities
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls and accounting policies
- Partner with leadership on budgeting, reporting, and strategic financial initiatives
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and nonprofit accounting standards
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive accounting leadership experience
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
- Higher education or nonprofit experience strongly preferred
- Prior supervisory experience required
