Social Media ManagerAs the Social Media Manager, you will lead the day-to-day management of WSU Pullman social channels and translates university and brand priorities into compelling, visually engaging, social-first storytelling. In this role, you will develop content and campaigns, create and edit multimedia content, support creator and influencer partnerships, engage WSU's online communities, and use social listening and performance insights to continuously strengthen WSU's social presence. You will also monitor online conversation and sentiment, identifies and escalates emerging reputational issues, and partners with communications leadership to support timely, appropriate responses during issues and crises.This is a full time (100 % FTE), permanent position. This position is overtime eligible. Monthly Salary: $4,508.70 - $6,763.06 Monthly | Commensurate with experience and qualifications In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. For additional information, please review the detailed Summary of Benefits offered by WSU for AP staff and Total Compensation.Required Qualifications:A Bachelor's degree in public relations, communications, marketing or other relevant field AND either two (2) years of professional experience in print OR broadcast news media, public relations, marketing including the use of electronic media or two (2) years of other relevant professional experience. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.Two (2) years of professional experience in social media, digital marketing, communications, content creation or a related field.Strong understanding of current social trends, creator culture and evolving platform best practices.Demonstrated experience managing and creating content for social platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, X and YouTube.Experience planning and executing social media campaigns or content initiatives.Experience capturing, designing and editing social-first creative, particularly short-form video and visual content.Strong writing, editing and storytelling skills, with the ability to adapt voice, tone and content by platform and audience.Working knowledge of social analytics and experience using performance data to inform content decisions.Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.Preferred Qualifications:Experience supporting influencer, creator or brand partnership programs.Proficiency with social-first creative and design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, CapCut or similar platforms.Experience with social media management, listening and analytics platforms such as Sprout Social, Meltwater, Vista Social or similar tools.Experience developing social performance reports and presenting insights and recommendations.Experience working collaboratively with designers, photographers, videographers and other creative partners.Experience overseeing interns, students or other content contributors.Experience in higher education, consumer brands, entertainment, sports, lifestyle or another audience-driven environment.Position Sponsorship Eligibility: Not eligible for work visa sponsorship Area/College: University Marketing and Communications Department Name: Social Media Team Location: Pullman, WAApplication Instructions: Applicants must upload the following required documents to their online application.
