The ideal candidate will be capable of flexing between departments as needed and should have a solid background in all areas of nursing. Candidates must be willing to work through the upcoming holiday season with minimal requests for time off.Key ResponsibilitiesAssess and identify patients' needs for education and provide appropriate educational resources and instruction.Prioritize patient safety by implementing preventative measures (e.g., side rails, restraints, safe equipment usage).Demonstrate knowledge of safe operation of all equipment used in PCU, Telemetry, and MedSurg areas.Implement infection control procedures and maintain proper documentation.Utilize standard precautions at all times.Maintain complete, accurate, and concise documentation of patient status, nursing interventions, and patient responses during assigned shifts.Accurately document charge and complete physicians' orders in a timely manner.Provide a comprehensive change of shift report to oncoming staff.Communicate effectively and accurately with other departments.Report critical lab values to physicians in accordance with established policy.Maintain and restock emergency carts and general supplies as needed.Perform other duties as assigned.Additional InformationHoliday coverage is required.
