- Perform caller interrogation to determine type response to dispatch police, fire, and EMS personnel and vehicles/apparatus as needed
- Answer 911 calls, conduct emergency and non-emergency call processing using Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) consoles or CAD capability through NG911 modernization, if applicable, and or Land Mobile Radios (LMR)
- Direct use of emergency protocol for fire, police, and medical emergencies.
- Plan, schedule, and distribute work of subordinates to achieve accomplishment of organizational goals and mission
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Incumbent may be required to wear a uniform.
- Work requires rotating shifts which may include days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Subject to call back, on-call and mandatory overtime as the mission requires.
- This position is designated as "mission essential," meaning the incumbent is required to work regardless of weather conditions or base closure and must report to the duty station when required.
- Incumbent must pass a pre-employment; fingerprint based criminal history investigation for any location that accesses Criminal Justice Information Systems.
- Within 16 weeks from the date of employment, the incumbent will be required to demonstrate reasonable proficiency at locally established training guidelines on the use of (continued below)
- E911, CAD, Land Mobile Radio (LMR), and station alerting software and equipment.
- Incumbent must complete the Department of Defense Telecommunicator I and II or equivalent based on the program standards at the location assigned.
- Incumbent must complete the National Incident Management System (NIMS) IS 100, 200, 300, 700, 800, and 907 courses.
- A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 5% of the time.
- This position requires certification BLS, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), and/or Emergency Medical Dispatch based on the program standards at the location assigned.
