Work involves some simple special diet preparation, as well as related light housekeeping and kitchen cleanup tasks. Work is performed under immediate supervision.KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED : (These are required to successfully perform the work assigned).Knowledge of use and care of food service equipment and utensils.Knowledge of methods and practices of food preparation and service.Ability to oversee patients in performance of simple tasks.Ability to maintain a high standard of personal cleanliness.Ability to follow simple verbal and written instructions.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Preference will be given to applicants with the following;ServSafe certification or equivalent;experience in healthcare facilities, specifically in nutritional services;knowledge of therapeutic diets and nutritional standards;the ability to use applicable technologies, and equipment for completion of essential job functions;possess strong time management, organizational, and verbal/written communication skills.Agency information:Dorothea Dix Psychiatric Center (DDPC) is a 69-bed psychiatric hospital serving the entire State of Maine that provides services for people with severe mental illness.
