Speech-Language Pathologist Lead

What You’ll Do Provide Patient-Centered Speech Therapy Evaluate patients and develop individualized treatment plans addressing speech, language, communication, cognitive, pragmatic, and feeding or swallowing needs. Provide and modify evidence-based interventions based on patient progress, functional needs, and family priorities. Educate patients and families on practical strategies that support progress at home and improve functional communication. Collaborate with therapists, physicians, educators, caregivers, and other providers to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care. Monitor outcomes and adjust goals, treatment frequency, duration, and plans of care to support optimal results. Lead and Develop the Speech Team Lead a team of approximately three to six clinicians through regular one-on-one meetings, ongoing clinical support, and strengths-based feedback. Celebrate clinical and personal wins, help team members identify professional goals, and support continued growth in confidence and skill. Answer clinical questions and help team members locate policies, procedures, resources, and the appropriate people for additional support. Identify unclear or missing internal guidance and partner with management to recommend improvements. Facilitate monthly small department meetings and identify training needs that may benefit the broader speech team. Participate in performance reviews and contribute meaningful feedback regarding team member growth and development. Support Supervision and Clinical Quality Supervise SLPAs, students, Clinical Fellows, aides, or new hires as assigned and in accordance with applicable state and ASHA requirements. Review and cosign documentation as needed to support compliance, quality care, and continuity of services. Complete periodic clinical checks, provide timely feedback, and foster a collaborative environment of mutual learning. Adjust or hand off patients when appropriate to create capacity for evaluations, supervision, mentoring, and clinic needs. Coordinate Schedules and Daily Operations Review and respond to PTO requests while maintaining clinician schedules that support patient and clinic needs. Respond to call-outs and coordinate with the front desk and PRN clinicians regarding coverage, rescheduling, and family communication. Monitor room reservations, cancellation communication, and the Raintree communication log for accuracy and follow-through. Assist management with new-hire onboarding schedules, first-day welcomes, workspaces, observations, warm handoffs, and completion of onboarding tasks. Communicate, Document, and Collaborate Document evaluations, treatment sessions, progress notes, and communications accurately and promptly in Raintree EMR according to Circle Creek Therapy processes. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and caregivers regarding progress, scheduling, attendance, and strategies that support the plan of care. Partner with managers to monitor caseloads, identify openings, and add evaluations or treatment sessions to meet patient and clinic needs. Participate in interdisciplinary meetings, leadership meetings, team learning opportunities, and clinic initiatives. Schedule and Protected Leadership Time This role maintains a consistent clinical schedule while receiving protected time for leadership responsibilities. The standard SLP direct contact hour expectation ramps to 67.5% following onboarding and is adjusted to account for assigned leadership time. One hour of leadership/admin time per direct report, including a 30-minute one-on-one meeting with each direct report. One 30-minute one-on-one meeting with the SLP Lead’s manager. One one-hour Team Leads Meeting with the Clinic Manager and Program Excellence Manager. What We’re Looking For Current Washington State Speech-Language Pathologist license. Experience providing speech-language pathology services, preferably in pediatric or multidisciplinary settings. Ability to meet applicable state and ASHA requirements for any assigned supervision responsibilities. Strong clinical judgment, communication, organization, documentation, and problem-solving skills. A supportive leadership style with the ability to provide feedback, build confidence, and hold clear expectations. Comfort using electronic medical record systems and learning clinic-specific systems and processes. Additional Responsibilities As clinic needs evolve, the SLP Lead may be asked to support additional activities such as clinic events, outreach or marketing efforts, social media content, and occasional clinic or grounds upkeep. Other duties may be assigned by the Clinic Manager, Program Excellence Manager, or another appropriate supervisor to support smooth clinic operations and high‑quality patient care.
