Lead Software Engineer - Python Credit Tech

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• We offer formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
• We bring hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability, with strong proficiency in Python.
• We have experience developing, debugging, and maintaining code in large corporate environments, along with strong SQL and database querying skills.
• We understand agile practices deeply, including CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.
• We have demonstrated experience across the full Software Development Life Cycle.
• We hold a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field, or we have equivalent practical experience.
• Preferred: We are familiar with modern front-end technologies.
• Preferred: We are familiar with Java and Spring Boot.
• Preferred: We have practical experience with cloud-native development on AWS.
• Preferred: We know Fixed Income products, especially syndicated and secondary loans.

• We design, develop, and troubleshoot creative software solutions, using unconventional thinking when needed to solve technical problems.
• We build secure, high-quality production code and review and debug code written by others.
• We identify ways to automate or remove recurring remediation work to improve the stability of our applications and systems.
• We lead evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to assess architectural designs, technical credentials, and fit within our systems and information architecture.
• We develop and integrate trading workflows and loan reference data for the Secondary Loan Trading desk.
• We build scalable front-office-facing services that streamline trading workflow management and improve desk productivity.
• We design, implement, and troubleshoot components end to end, considering upstream and downstream dependencies as well as technical impact.
• We translate changing business needs into clear technical requirements and practical solutions under tight timelines, using structured troubleshooting to find root causes across services and data flows.
• We follow secure coding practices and engineering methods to deliver stable, maintainable systems throughout the SDLC.
• We work independently as strong individual contributors with minimal supervision.
