Respiratory Therapist

This position requires 12-hour shifts that rotate on weekends. Early shifts commence at 6 AM and conclude at 6:30 PM. Additional on-call shifts are also part of the responsibilities.

The Respiratory Therapist will provide comprehensive therapeutic and diagnostic respiratory care in both inpatient and outpatient settings. This role involves administering care under the direction of ordering physicians and under the supervision of the Cardiopulmonary Director. The candidate must possess a thorough understanding and competence in respiratory care for adult, pediatric, and newborn patients. Responsibilities include:

• Performing Pulmonary Function Studies and administering related testing.
• Assisting in the orientation and training of new clinical staff in the administration of respiratory therapy modalities and equipment.
• Engaging in community education and development activities.

Education

Applicants must be graduates of an approved and accredited school for Respiratory Care.

Experience

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in newborn/NICU settings.
• At least 3 years of experience in acute respiratory care medicine, including General Floor Care, Emergent Medical and Trauma Stabilization/Treatment, and Newborn Stabilization.
• Experience in cardiopulmonary diagnostics and pulmonary and cardiac rehabilitation is preferred.

Licenses/Certifications

• Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications.
• Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
• Licensed to practice respiratory care in the State of Colorado.
• Membership in the American Academy of Respiratory Care (AARC) is preferred.
