Job Title: Welder (TIG Aluminum & Stainless)

Job Description

This role focuses on TIG welding aluminum and stainless steel components used in high-volume production of pizza pans and related products for commercial food operations. You will start with basic tacking and progressively develop into full TIG welding responsibilities, using a foot-pedal TIG machine to fuse precise corner joints. The position offers the opportunity to build speed and accuracy in a clean manufacturing environment while cross-training in different departments as business needs evolve.

Responsibilities

• Perform TIG welding on aluminum and stainless steel using a TIG welder with a foot pedal.
• Fuse the corners of pizza pans with four welds at 90-degree angles, ensuring strong and clean joints.
• Start with tacking operations and progressively take on full TIG welds as skills develop.
• Primarily fabricate pizza pans and assist in producing related products such as pizza cutters and other commercial pizza tools.
• Perform occasional MIG welding on stainless steel to weld racks and other components as needed.
• Read and interpret blueprints to understand dimensions, weld locations, and fabrication requirements.
• Follow detailed work instructions and directions from supervisors to meet production and quality standards.
• Maintain high precision and attention to detail to ensure consistent weld quality and product appearance.
• Increase production output over time, starting with smaller quantities (e.g., 25 pans, then 50) and working toward a target of approximately 400 pans per day once fully trained.
• Adhere to manufacturing and fabrication processes, including proper setup, handling, and operation of welding equipment.
• Cross-train and assist in different departments based on production needs and workflow demands.
• Demonstrate reliable attendance and a positive attitude to support team productivity and overall plant performance.

Essential Skills

• Basic welding experience with the ability to perform fundamental welds safely and accurately.
• TIG welding experience or exposure, especially on aluminum and stainless steel, or a strong willingness to learn and develop TIG skills.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints for manufacturing and fabrication work.
• Precision and strong attention to detail to produce consistent, high-quality welds.
• Familiarity with manufacturing or fabrication environments, including production workflows.
• Capability to follow directions closely and adapt to feedback from supervisors and trainers.
• Willingness to cross-train into different departments depending on the needs of the business.
• Strong attendance and a positive, cooperative attitude in a production setting.
• Ability to build speed and efficiency, with the goal of completing a pizza pan weld in under one minute once trained.
• Comfort working with aluminum for the majority of the time (approximately 8590%) and stainless steel for the remainder (approximately 1015%).

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with TIG welding on both aluminum and stainless steel in a production environment.
• Experience with MIG welding on stainless steel, particularly for racks and similar assemblies.
• Experience in manufacturing or metal fabrication, especially in high-volume production.
• Ability to work toward and sustain high daily output targets in a repetitive production process.
• Interest in developing advanced TIG techniques and improving weld speed and consistency over time.

Work Environment

You will work in a clean manufacturing environment with multiple production lines and departments, providing exposure to a variety of processes and tasks. The role centers on production welding using TIG machines with foot pedals and occasional MIG welding equipment, primarily on aluminum components with some stainless steel work. The setting emphasizes consistent, repetitive production where speed and accuracy are important, and you will gradually increase your output as you become more proficient. Cross-training opportunities allow you to move between departments as production needs shift, creating variety in your day-to-day work while maintaining a structured, orderly plant environment.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Spokane Valley, WA.

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $23.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
