Polysomnographer

The Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics Polysomnographer / Sleep Technician is responsible for conducting sleep studies and performing diagnostic testing related to respiratory and neurological functions during sleep. This role involves operating specialized equipment, monitoring patients, and ensuring accurate data collection to assist in diagnosing sleep disorders. The position requires licensure or certification in hand and involves working in a short-term acute care hospital environment with a focus on patient care and adherence to regulatory standards. Responsibilities:

• Perform polysomnographic studies and other sleep-related diagnostic tests accurately and efficiently.
• Monitor patients during sleep studies and ensure patient safety and comfort.
• Operate and maintain sleep diagnostic equipment in accordance with hospital policies and manufacturer guidelines.
• Collect and analyze data to assist physicians in diagnosing sleep disorders.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive patient care.
• Complete all required documentation and charting using Epic electronic medical records.
• Adhere to hospital and state regulations including licensing requirements and testing protocols.

• Current licensure or certification as a Polysomnographic Technologist or equivalent in the state of Oregon.
• Successful completion of the Oregon State Law & Rules Exam for licensure.
• Ability to complete fingerprinting and licensing application processes as required by Oregon state law.
• Experience with sleep diagnostic equipment and procedures.
• Familiarity with Epic electronic medical record system.
• Strong attention to detail and patient safety focus.

• Experience working in a short-term acute care hospital setting.
• Knowledge of respiratory and neurological diagnostic techniques.
• Ability to work with diverse patient populations.

• Must have licensure in hand prior to starting employment.
• Completion of Oregon State Law & Rules Exam must be done in person at the Oregon office.
• Fingerprinting must be completed within 30 days of application submission.
• Block scheduling is required with a 2:1 patient ratio.
• Weekend work is required, including Friday night shifts extending into Saturday morning.
• No on-call responsibilities.
• Scrubs provided for designated units; business casual attire for case management.
