Director of Patient Access
Hawaiʻi Island Community Health Center (HICHC)
Salary: $90,737.50 - $122,762.50 annually, based on qualifications and experience
Status: Full-Time, Exempt
Hawaiʻi Island Community Health Center is seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Patient Access to lead and optimize our patient service, call center, and triage operations. Reporting to the Vice President of Patient Experience, this leadership role is responsible for ensuring exceptional patient access, operational efficiency, quality standards, and a patient-centered experience across the organization.
Key Responsibilities- Provide leadership and oversight for Patient Service Representatives, Call Center Operators, Call Center Triage Nurses, and departmental leaders.
- Develop and implement operational goals, workflows, policies, and performance metrics.
- Improve patient access, scheduling efficiency, and service delivery through data-driven process improvements.
- Collaborate with clinical and administrative leaders to ensure quality, compliance, and regulatory standards.
- Lead quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient satisfaction and access to care.
- Manage departmental budgets and support strategic organizational objectives.
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Public Health, Healthcare Management, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and healthcare leadership experience.
- Minimum five (5) years of supervisory and clinic management experience, preferably in an FQHC or community health center setting.
- Experience with patient access operations, workflow optimization, and performance management.
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations, Medicare, Medicaid, and electronic health record systems.
Preferred:
- Master's degree in a related field.
