Contract End Date: December 26, 2026
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM-6:00 PM | 40 hours/week

Position Summary:

The Phlebotomist II / Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) serves as the face of the organization for patients visiting for routine healthcare services and important diagnostic testing. This role is responsible for collecting high-quality blood specimens, preparing samples for laboratory testing, and providing an exceptional patient experience.
The Phlebotomist II must perform venipuncture and specimen collection safely, accurately, and efficiently while maintaining patient confidentiality and following established policies, procedures, and safety standards.
The position may be assigned to a Patient Service Center, physician's office, or other locations based on business needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform venipuncture and blood specimen collection accurately and safely.
Collect and process clinical and forensic specimens according to established procedures.
Perform Pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
Verify patient demographic information and required initials/signatures.
Confirm specimen labels with patients after collection and ensure tubes are correctly labelled in the patient's presence.
Prepare specimens for laboratory testing and ensure proper handling and processing.
Maintain accurate records and required documentation.
Provide clear explanations of procedures and establish trust and confidence with patients.
Maintain a safe, clean, and professional work environment.
Demonstrate professionalism and promote a positive image to patients, clients, coworkers, and the public.
Complete daily activities accurately and within established timelines.
Follow all company policies and procedures, including dress code, employee health and safety, confidentiality, and quality standards.
Demonstrate strong customer service and communication skills.
Manage multiple priorities effectively in a high-volume environment.
Work independently with minimal on-site supervision.
Travel between multiple locations as needed and provide coverage at Patient Service Centers and physician offices with minimal notice.
Maintain flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call assignments, and overtime based on staffing requirements.
Complete training at designated locations based on trainer availability.

Required Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent - Required.
1-3 years of phlebotomy experience - Required.
Experience with Pediatric, geriatric, and capillary blood collections - Required.
Strong venipuncture and specimen collection skills.
Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment based on established procedures.
Strong organizational and documentation skills.
Keyboarding and data-entry experience.
Excellent patient/customer service and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Phlebotomy certification preferred.
Medical Assistant or Paramedic training preferred.
2 years of Patient Service Center experience preferred.
Previous customer service experience in a retail or service environment highly preferred.
