Senior Specialist (Capital Project Management), Global Engineering Solutions

Merck's Global Engineering Solutions group seeks a Senior Specialist to manage capital projects independently or as part of a portfolio across manufacturing, laboratory, and infrastructure operations. The role requires delivering projects on time and within budget while ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Manage integrated project teams to deliver critical assets on time and within budget
- Oversee portfolio of low/medium capital projects or single high-segment projects from evaluation through completion
- Coordinate with design leaders and external partners on equipment design, material selection, and installation proposals
- Develop and implement project execution plans with appropriate safety and health management
- Manage project budgeting, scheduling, procurement strategies, and change control processes
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- Minimum five years executing capital and/or expense projects
- Experience managing integrated project teams to deliver critical assets on budget
- Strong oral and written communication skills with presentation abilities
- Excellent decision-making, self-motivation, and change management capabilities
- Ability to travel 50%
- Familiarity with bioprocessing equipment and unit operations (preferred)
