Heavy Equipment Diesel Technician

Overview Diesel Technician will be responsible for a variety of tasks; including diagnostics, service repairs and preventative maintenance associated with maintaining heavy equipment. The successful candidate will be self-motivated and proficient in diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical issues, as well as execute the repairs. All experience levels are encouraged to apply. Compensation D.O.E. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Utilize vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes to initiate repairs Collaborate with drivers to troubleshoot faulty equipment Use technical knowledge to repair company vehicles properly and cost efficiently Perform preventive maintenance inspection (PMI), troubleshoot, repair, and rebuild major components on vehicles and equipment including engine repair and chassis maintenance Work independently on equipment that requires a high level of skill with hydraulics, electrical, and diagnostics Proficient in diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical issues Estimate time and material costs on repairs and requisitions new parts Respond to unscheduled service calls quickly and complete repairs efficiently Maintain knowledge on existing equipment, as well as reading and understanding equipment manuals Knowledge and Skills 5+ years of working on diesel trucks, construction equipment, Tractor/Trailers, Agriculture equipment or Dump Trucks preferred Mechanical and electrical knowledge Welding experience desired, but not required Ability to multitask & juggle priorities Problem-solving, analytical and critical thinking skills Excellent communication skills Strong work ethic with a positive attitude Valid drivers license Must have own tools All qualified applicants will receive consideration without regard to race, age, color, sex (including pregnancy), religion, national origin, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, military status, genetic information, or any other status protected by applicable laws or regulations. #J-18808-Ljbffr
