Position Overview

A community-based Family Center in the Bronx is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Pediatrician to provide comprehensive medical care to infants, children, and adolescents. The Pediatrician will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care to underserved and culturally diverse populations. This role focuses on preventive care, wellness education, diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic illnesses, and supporting the overall health and development of children and families within the community.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive pediatric primary care services to children from birth through adolescence.
• Conduct routine wellness visits, physical examinations, developmental screenings, and immunizations.
• Diagnose and treat acute and chronic pediatric illnesses and injuries.
• Monitor growth, development, and behavioral health concerns.
• Educate parents and caregivers on nutrition, safety, child development, and disease prevention.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
• Coordinate care with behavioral health providers, social workers, schools, and community organizations as needed.
• Participate in care planning for patients with complex medical or social needs.
• Respond to patient and family concerns with professionalism, empathy, and cultural sensitivity.
• Ensure compliance with all organizational policies, HIPAA regulations, and clinical quality standards.
• Collaborate with medical assistants, nurses, and administrative staff to ensure efficient clinic operations.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and team meetings.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pediatrics.
• Active New York State medical license and DEA registration.
• Current BLS and PALS certification preferred.
• Experience working in a community health center, family center, FQHC, or underserved population preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Bilingual Spanish preferred but not required.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Schedule & Compensation

• Full-time schedule, Monday through Friday.
