Salary Details
Job Summary:
The Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) is responsible for providing preventive dental care, including oral assessments, teeth cleanings, and patient education. The RDH works closely with dentists to support overall patient oral health and ensures compliance with safety and health regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
-Identify appropriate hygiene needs (prophy, SRP, FMD, etc) and perform as needed.
-Conduct oral health assessments and record patient medical and dental histories.
-Take digital radiographs
-Apply fluoride treatments and dental sealants (as needed)
-Educate patients on oral hygiene techniques, including brushing, flossing, and nutritional counseling.
-Administer local anesthesia (as needed)
-Assist the dentist during examinations or procedures as needed.
-Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
-Adhere to infection control protocols and ensure cleanliness of equipment and operatory.
-Monitor and manage hygiene supplies and inventory.
-Stay up to date with continuing education and state licensing requirements.
